What is Ayushman Bharat Health Account or ABHA Card
Ayushman Bharat Health account or ABHA card is launched under Ayushman bharat digital mission. It is a 14 digit randomly generated number. This ID stores all data related to one’s health, which can be shared with hospitals, clinics and insurance companies.
Benefits of Ayushman Bharat Health Account
The biggest benefits of ABHA card are that post successful generation of this card, all Personal Health records (PHR) along with prescriptions, test reports and other necessary medical details can be saved digitally. There is no need to save hard copies of long medical prescriptions and records. With the generation of ABHA card number, your entire medical record can be digitally made accessible with the ABHA registered medical practitioners and participating health centers.
How to Apply for ABHA Card
You can apply for ABHA card or generate your ABHA number in two ways
- Self Mode
- Assisted Mode
Self Mode- You can generate ABHA number by visiting National Health Authority health ID website or download the ABHA app from Google playstore. You can use your Aadhaar number or driving license to create ABHA number
- Login to https://healthid.ndhm.gov.in/
- Click on create your ABHA number
- Click on generate via Aadhaar number
- Carefully read and agree to the terms and conditions
Once you submit, you will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar linked mobile number. Enter the OTP received and submit. Post this, you will be directed to your profile page. The profile page will have all prefilled fields based on the information fetched from your Aadhaar card.
After this, you will be asked to create your ABHA address. ABHA address was earlier known as personal health record (PHR) and set a password. The Ayushman Bharat Health Account Address is a unique identifier, self-declared username, through which your data will be stored and accessed digitally.
Assisted Mode- You can request creation of ABHA number by visiting public/private hospitals Community health centers or Health and wellness centers across India.
If you are opting to generate ABHA number using driving license then the process will remain the same except the fact that you will only be able to generate the enrollment number. You will have to visit the nearest ABDM registered participating health center to get the ABHA number.
